As I witness the country imploding, I'm trying to find ways to cope with anxiety. Limiting my exposure to the news is helping. So is the punching bag I just bought. Exercise is a great way to de-stress, and I'm going to try Tai-Chi.
Here is a list of other ways to cope with anxiety:
1. Reading positive quotes.
2. Watching old shows I love. I call them my "comfort shows."
3. Watching comedies. Laughing is a great way to relieve anxiety.
4. Talking with like-minded friends to vent.
5. Keep busy with tasks around the house. I'm scanning and uploading old photos to my computer. It's also nice to see those old memories.
6. Avoid talking about politics.
7. Get out of the house and do things you enjoy.
8. Repeat calming mantras or meditate.
9. Read a good book.
10. Keep a journal.

I feel your pain, Kelley. Why anyone in their right mind would have voted for the current shitshow we're living through is beyond me. I've given up on Dems. I'm now an Independent. The Dems are proving as loony as the other side. My governor - Newsom - is now hosting a podcast where he lets psychos like Kirk and Bannon spout rightwing points with no pushback from him. These lunatics have Faux Noise and AM hate radio, so what's the point of the podcast?
The world's gone mad and is getting worse by the second (there's now talk about invading Canada and Greenland to take them over - good god). I feel for the children being born into this mess. :(
