City of Lies by January Bain

Good Morning!

I trust you are well and happy about a new month turning over, heralding spring being just around the corner. 😄

Today I want to share with y'all my very first hardboiled crime mystery about to be released by Rough Edges Press in mid-April.

This is a dream come true for me. I've wanted to write thrillers and mysteries for some time now. I'd even stockpiled the manuscripts, hoping for a publisher. And low and behold, just before Christmas my dreams became a reality!💖

What is 'City of Lies' about?

A Gripping Tale of Identity, Crime, and Survival…

Claire Preston, a script reader for a Hollywood movie studio, has recently lost her mother. Discovering she was adopted as a baby, she goes on a perilous quest for her true identity.

Assisted by her mentor, the seasoned private investigator, Jake Sterling, Claire delves deeper into her past, only to unearth a labyrinth of secrets more daunting than she ever envisioned. Soon, she finds herself in the crosshairs of a ruthless serial killer—an ex-Nazi fugitive evading justice for decades.

As Claire confronts her heritage, grapples with danger, and races against time to evade the clutches of a deadly predator, she finds herself wondering: Is uncovering the truth in a city of lies even possible?

Experience the chilling twists and turns of a tale where identity, mystery, and survival converge in the heart of 1968 Los Angeles. Order your copy now. City of Lies

Wishing you and yours a wonderful March! See you in April!

Hugs,

January Bain/Storyteller

Congrats, January, on realizing your dream! When I started writing, I favored thrillers and crime over romance, so I know where you're coming from.

City of Lies sounds great - and the cover - WOW - I love it. :)

Thanks, Tina!

Are you writing any thrillers and crime stories now? Would you like an ARC of City of Lies? Maybe for a review if you have any time? Or not, just for reading is fine too!

I LOVE the cover too! I was really impressed when it showed up in my inbox a couple of weeks back. Going to be a year, with 7 thrillers and 3 romances being released! I must be crazy!
