Good Morning from me and Baby Ling Ling!
A wise woman told me a photo of a cat is always appreciated, so I thought, why not show off my beautiful fluffy baby girl!
I hope this message finds you well this fine June morning! Such a wonderful time of year with everything summer on the horizon.
I'm here today to talk about a new series I've just begun writing: World Gone Dark. I mention it because I have 9 books planned, something a bit out of my comfort zone. I think the stretch as a writer is good for me. I'll let you know next month if I manage to keep my sanity or not?!
This new series will follow the Mackenzie clan as they struggle to survive in the hollers of Kentucky. I always wanted to write a series set in the South and have thoroughly enjoyed the research, including family good recipes passed down for generations.
One of the interesting things I've discovered is what people keep in their bug-out bags when they are expecting a disaster to strike. This is an incomplete list but it gets one thinking. Perhaps you would like to add something to a comment about what you couldn't live without? I would find that very interesting! Thank you and have a grand month.
General bug-out bag list:
First Aid Supplies
Cash
NOAA battery-powered radio
Rain jacket
Headlamp
Flashlight
Multi-tool like a Leatherman
Compass and paper maps
Packets of food and nuts
Energy bars
Bottle of water
LifeStraw
Medicines
Extra clothes and especially socks
Plastic tarp if you have room
Toilet paper
So, what couldn't you do without?
Happy Day to you!
Hugs, January /Storyteller

Awww, Baby Ling Ling is adorable! :)
Your new series sounds awesome. I love dystopian and apocalyptic survival stories. Can't wait till you get the first one out there.
Thanks, Tina, you made my day! Hope you are having a grand one as well! Hugs, January
