The Sweeter Side of Christmas

Christmas is coming! Yeah, I know, it's still more than a month away, but in my family we make our gifts, so we're already hard at it. And I'm ready Christmas stories, and am ready to start watching the movies. I haven't decorated yet, but I've made a date with my two-year-old granddaughter to put them up this weekend and maybe bake some cookies while we're at it.

I'm loving sweet reads this season, the wholesome, heartwarming ones like the Hallmark movies. I thought I'd share some of the ones I've found, so you might discover a new favorite author.

Christmas, Actually by Anna Adams, Anna J Stewart, and Melinda Curtis. (The title makes me think of Love, Actually, one of my fave holiday movies!)

Discover the magic of Christmas Town, Maine!
Jack Banning promised to support the mother of his unborn child… But she doesn't need money, she only needs him.

Callie Banning's student has declared war on Christmas, so it's up to her to help the little girl—and her widowed father—believe again.

Gina Vernay is about to meet her online mystery date…and she's in for the surprise of a lifetime!

Mistletoe Wedding by Melissa McClone

Event planner at the Bar V5 Dude Ranch, Meg Redstone is dreaming of a white Christmas with twinkling lights, sparkly decorations and strategically placed mistletoe. She loves making dreams come true for others, whether planning a holiday wedding or giving her young daughter the best Christmas ever.

Ranch foreman Tyler Murphy loves the holidays, but his newest employee has taken over his barn with her over-the-top decorations. He admires Meg’s desire to give her daughter the perfect Christmas while planning a winter wonderland wedding, but he wants to show her that a Montana Christmas is more than glitter and lights.

After raising his younger sister, an instant family is not on Ty's Christmas wish list. But he finds himself falling hard for the single mom and her little girl. Meg, however, is not interested in a romance with a cowboy like Ty, or any man. Getting her under the mistletoe is going to take a Christmas miracle . . . or a little help from Santa.

An Almost Perfect Christmas: An Ocean City Boardwalk Novella by Donna Fasano

When it comes to business, Aaron Chase knows how to succeed. But when his daughter, Izzie, asks him for the perfect family Christmas, the handsome widower feels at a loss about how to make his little girl's dream come true.

Pediatric Nurse Christy Cooper has dedicated her life to taking care of children. She agrees to act as Izzie's stand-in mom for this special holiday and throws herself into making the child's Christmas wish a reality. Maybe this selfless act will somehow alleviate her secret regrets and failures of the past.

The holiday is filled with fun and laughter, and it's amazing how three short days can be so life-changing. When the impish eight-year-old talks the adults into acting out a silly, make-believe wedding, young Izzie is certain the magic of the season will turn the pretend vows into the real thing. The little girl wants her daddy to have Christmas in his life--every single day.
