Back from Book Expo America

Hello, Lisa Carlisle here. Last month, I wrote about looking forward to BEA in New York. I went and what great experience it was. I arrived in NY on Friday and met up with fellow author and friend Heather Elizabeth King. We went to pick up our badges at the Javits Center and returned to Times Square where we were staying. After walking around the crazy-packed nightlife there, we found a bar nearby with a band playing rock cover songs from the 80s and 90s.

Signing at the Ellora's Cave booth at BEA
The next day was full with BEA events. Heather and I were signing later that morning with Kerry Adrienne. We returned to the Javits Center and tried to have a plan of attack before we signed at Ellora's Cave's booth, but quickly got diverted by the many publishers and book displays.EC's booth is great fun. Besides all the friendly staff, they have eye-catching cavemen. ;)

For a couple of hours, we talked with librarians, authors, book store owners, and readers, who stopped by. We signed book cover flats, and had fun chatting in between. It went by very quickly.

After our time slot, we hit the rows and rows of booths again. I found an advance copy of an R.L. Stine book for my youngest sister. She was thrilled as she was a huge fan growing up. Score! I met up with Heather and her friends later at Ellen Stardust, which is a great diner with singing servers. Some of them are fantastic singers. We then met up with some of my friends at a bar downtown and finished the night dancing.

To make an awesome weekend in NY a little more special, I was thrilled to hear from Night Owl Reviews that they reviewed Bloodlust and Metal, part of my Underground Encounters series with Ellora's Cave.
Here are some snippets:

"Heavy Metal, vampires and shifters make a great combination in this mesmerizing paranormal romance."

"The attraction between Devon and Layla radiates from every page and no matter how much they fight it the sex scenes are red hot and scorch the reader with their fiery passion."

"The relationship between the two keeps things real interesting and the danger, passion and action heats things up even more and the drama with the band adds a little more spice to the story as well."

Here's more on Bloodlust and Metal.

Bloodlust and Metal

Fourth in the Underground Encounters series. On the run from a master vampire, young vampire Layla Black flees London to reinvent herself as the singer of an Eighties cover band in Boston. Devon St. Clair is the bounty hunter hired to track her down. As a shapeshifter with extraordinary skills, his reputation is known throughout the supernatural world. Capturing Layla should be an easy gig that will net a nice profit. The situation doesn’t go as Devon plans. He wants Layla in his bed, but shapeshifters and vampires don’t mix. They should hate each other, but instead they’re keeping the sheets steamy. When circumstances force them on the run together, their preconceived notions are challenged. If they can evade those hunting them and convince his fellow shapeshifters to help her even though she’s a vampire, they just might have a chance to explore where all that hot, sweaty sex can take them.
A Romantica® paranormal erotic romance from Ellora’s Cave

Now back to the writing cave! I've submitted part six of the series to my editor and am juggling multiple other projects with other authors.
