Are You a Leap-Year Baby?

February was sooooo short this year..but it got me wondering about those of you born on February 29th? Did you have celebrations every year at some artificial date, or did you have one big blow out every leap year?
I had a friend who was born Xmas day, who felt so cheated he had a birthday celebration June 25th. Seemed to work and I thought it pretty clever. But to wait for every leap year? Four years? Children must hate that. Would love to hear from anyone who has a leap-year friend as to how they handled it. As for being married on the 29th!!!  The complications boggle my easily-distracted mind.

Gotta include an excerpt for Fearless Pursuit. This book was scheduled for a January release, but the edits have been so extensive I still don't have a definite date. Coming soon though! This is erotica, so be warned. Rurik is a hot-blooded elf who has fought hard for his love, and he's finally got her.

“Rurik.” His name was more a demand than a plea. “Don’t make me wait. Take me to bed.”

“And do what, love?”

He had just enough control left to tease her, although his voice sounded husky.

She hit him with one fist. “Rurik. Please.”

He swept her up in his arms and strode through to the small sitting room to her bedroom. He practically flung her on her bed and starting followed her down, sucking her nipples through the thin cloth of her negligee. As she lay on the bed and reached up for him he closed his eyes and tried counting to ten to slow himself. Why did this one woman turn him into a barbarian before he’d even entered her? Actually before he’d even given her the courtesy of preparing her properly for his entrance? She was ready but he wanted more. He wanted her burning with ardor the way he was.

With a groan, he forced himself to lie beside her, not on her. Not yet. He wanted her as frantic as he before he entered her. Steeling himself to spend as much time as was needed, he leaned over and sucked on first one breast and then the other.

She whimpered, sexy little moans that fired him even higher, but still it was not enough. He raised her body enough to strip the negligee from her, kissing each inch he exposed. His cock felt as hard as a stone and he doubted he’d ever been this big. Not sure she was ready for the largest erection he’d ever experienced, he set himself to bringing her to delight."

Do hope you like my very virile elves!
All the elf books can be found at Ellora's Cave, Kindle, Amazon, and my website, www.jeanhartstewart.com
Looking forward to hearing from all of you!!!!

I've often envied those women born on leap year. Imagine getting older every four years. :)

That's an integral plot point in Gilbert and Sullivan's "Pirates of Penzance". The hero was indentured to the pirates until he turns 21, which is this week. He plans to leave them to marry his lady love. But the pirates discover a "Paradox", which leads to a song, of course. He was born on Feb. 29th, so he won't be eligible to leave the pirates until he's 84! He begs his lady to wait for him, and she agrees she will, to general amusement.

I've talked with kids I sub for about this. They're horrified to imagine not being able to drive until they're 64!

That's a point I'd forgotten and I love "Pirates". Still want to hear from a reader who has this birthday to contend with!
