More Changes in the Air by Harlie Williams

As I told you in December, Harlie's Books was going to slow down and I wasn't going to try to be Super Blogger.  My sanity, health and personal relationships don't need the pressure anymore.  I'm sure that y'all have read blog posts from bloggers that are taking a break, backing off from tours, etc.  I'm all that but I'm putting my blog on hiatus.  You will never guess what has happened since I made my announcement?  The blog actually has more hits and comments.  Yes, I average now around 90 hits a day on the blog.  For me that's awesome and when I went in to really analyze it, it is due to NOT having a zillion things going on at the same time.  *slaps forehead*  After 3 years, you would think I would have figured that one out at least.  LOL!

Plus, I did a top three books for 2013.  I never have done one of those and it was hard to pick.  I had 48 Best Books of 2013 and I narrowed it down to one contemporary, one historical and one YA.  Yes, a YA.
Here is the link:  http://www.harliesbooks.com/posts/new-years-reading-resolutions-blog-hop/

I have since read the follow up to the contemporary and historical.  They are just as good as the first books.

The reason why I'm writing this post is because now I'm bored.  Yes, bored.  I'm writing but when you work almost 8 hours a day just reading and blogging, its like a full time job that you don't get paid for.  Most days, I don't know what to do with myself.  Sure, I clean, cook, take care of our son but then I have times where I just stare at my computer or the walls of our house and sigh.  I'm applying for jobs, too.  Only problem is no one wants a 46 yr old admin asst. with over 25 years experience.  They want them trainable and wet behind the ears.  *sigh*

If anyone has any suggestions and how I can NOT be bored, please let me know.  I'm not going to increase the blog stuff because of it.  Its been great that I can post a week's worth of stuff in a couple of hours and not have to worry about it.  Huge sigh of relief to me and the family.

My problem is I have too much to do. So my only suggestion is keep busy with what you enjoy. That way you'll never be bored. :)

Thanks ladies. I'm just not used to downtime. But hey, I'm reading books for pleasure now. :)

So true Krista! And I'm not tired or stressed out about it either.

Try being a 57-year-old English teacher who is a specialist in teaching writing, when no one cares about writing. They want reading specialists, and special ed aides they can pay minimum wage to, even if they have a Masters degree! Argh!
So I continue to sub, knowing that I make even less than an aide, but at least I'm not asking if you want fries with that!

I quit my retail job before Thanksgiving, and the lack of a second paycheck is really hurting. But I HATE retail. No one will hire me as a secretary because I've never had any experience. And the sales job I had years ago was based on contacts, but most of them are either retired or dead now.

What can I suggest? Read for fun. Write everyday. Do you sew or crochet? I do both and creating something helps me feel I got something accomplished with my day. Can you take a class in something you want to learn? A foreign language? Anything?

I can't forget to thank you most effusively for picking my book as one of your top 3!!
"For The Love Of His Life" is, according to my family and friends who read all of my books, my best so far. Thanks for publicizing that you agree!
