Bondage Rope - Straight Up Awesomesauce!

About six months ago I was lucky enough to meet a great guy who actually makes lots of different kinds of rope used for bondage. Everything from jute to hemp, to silk or cotton. Even some very scratchy material like coconut. If you've got the right setup you can use all sorts of diverse materials to make rope. Here's a few examples of what can be made.

Avello Black Jute

Avello Red Linen

Hemp

Jute
They can be made in varying lengths but most are between 20' and 30'. I've had several riggers tell me the lengths are too short and too long, no matter the actual length of rope. When you're tying you always need a tad bit more or a few feet less for it to come out perfectly.

Diameter of the rope is on average 5mm or 6mm. The smaller the rope the more it hurts due to surface area spreading the tension of the tie.

The ends are normally knotted or whipped. I prefer whipped, knotted hurts a lot more. :) And rope, depending on the rigger, will go through a conditioning process once it is spun to soften it. Some rope, like coconut, are meant to be really scratchy so they aren't condition much or not at all.

In Book Two of the Members Only series, Haleigh's Ink, you'll start seeing more rope. Then LOTS more in Book Four, Jenna's Consent. I just love it and I'm going to share the passion with anybody that will listen.
You've all been warned. :)

If you're interested in buying some rope talk to DK. His site's listed below. He is awesome and literally if you can dream it, he can make it! All pictures above are from his repertoire of fantastic items.

Now everybody get some rope and learn how to tie. It's way fun!
