Sex doesn't sell - not really

Granted, this is an unusual take for me - an author of erotic romance - to have.
However, I've learned this truth over the years.
Please note - I'm referring to erotic romance here, not erotica - there is a difference. :)
Please drop by to learn what I've said and what I've discovered as a writer of erotic romance.
It may surprise you. :)

Hi Tina, read it and left a comment a couple of days ago. I agree that without an investment by the reader in the characters, the sex is just porn, with no meaning other than the reader gets to "watch".

But I have to say I find romances without any sex to be "flat", with no resolution to the tension that the author creates between the characters. So I do like sex in my romances, just not as the sole focus, but as an enhancement to the story.

Fiona said it all. You've got to have romance with the sex of it's just porn.
