Where does inspiration come from? It’s a question writers are often asked, and everyone has a different answer for it. From book to book, there is often a different answer to the question. My latest release is called JADED HEARTS, my second with Ellora’s Cave, and it’s a virtually re-written short story that was originally published back in 2004. The second time it was issued, it was buried in an anthology that never sold more than a dozen copies, so this version will be very much a new one for anyone who decides to settle in and read it. Longer by almost half, and extensively revised, this was inspired by a small, secondary character from a show I loved about ten years ago. The character made about a half dozen appearances, often on screen for less than two minutes at a time, but he intrigued me–and Carlos D’Alejandro was born in my imagination. I think he’s got a lot more to say, and there is a great adventure waiting to be told, I’m sure.
Have a look at my latest book here, and if you have read it already, let me know if you think a sequel is something you’d be interested in, please?

Protected federal witness Carlos D’Alejandro and Special Agent Jade Lazlow–Whinton have had a relationship of convenience over the years. Jade’s retired, but when her estranged husband needs her, he uses her attachment to the enigmatic Carlos to lure her back into the field. When she recovers from near-fatal wounds and discovers the deceit, she goes to the one man who will never lie to her. Carlos.
The idyllic Pacific island paradise D’Alejandro calls home is the stuff of fantasy, but it isn’t long before reality knocks on the door and shatters their peace. The news is grim. People they loved have been killed, and these two unlikely lovers are forced to face a truth neither of them has been willing to examine too closely—that their passion is more than intense attraction.
Publisher’s Note: This title was previously published elsewhere and has been extensively revised for Ellora’s Cave.
