This 1971 booster button comes from my personal collection. It's the first official button offered in the Philadelphia area to raise environmental awareness. I wore it because a cute boy at school gave it to me and kept it because it's pretty. I guess motivation to protect the environment comes in many forms. ")

Happy Earth Day, Adele!! I hope everyone takes our planet's issues seriously. I was watching The History Channel yesterday and they were talking about Nostradamus and the end times supposedly going to happen on Dec 21, 2012. Scary stuff.
We've abused this planet and each other long enough.
Happy Earth Day to you too, Adele!!!
I second Tina's comments.. We've all got to be more careful of this precious planet.
Earth is our mother and the mother of all living things. If we mess it up, we got no where else to go. Some day, maybe people will get the idea that all creatures and living things are important for survival. Over population and misuse of resources is killing the Earth--and, eventually mankind.
Hi Tina, Renee, Jean, Sarah!
Thanks so much for leaving a comment on my Earth Day post. This booster button is one of my prized possessions. I thought it would be fun to share.
Have great day!
Best--Adele
Happy Earth Day!
Thanks for stopping by, Stormie!
Best--Adele
happy earth day!!!
We were camping over the weekend and my daughter took lots of pictures...she posted them on Facebook, and there's one of me hugging a tree, appropriately enough! My husband taught us to honor those who create our oxygen thusly: "Soul to soul, heart to tree, spirit of nature, come into me."
I've been recycling since it was unfashionable and tedious, since you had to remove labels from everything, rinse clean, then drive to a center towns away. Now we've had curb-side recycling of commingled things for years. If only we could get with the renewable energy and stop this dependence on foreign oil...
